Fog-Off
consists of a self-adhesive 1 mm thick thermostatic plastic sheet
that are designed to conduct electric energy when it is then connected
to the power source (usually the bathroom light switch).
Each pad has a self adhesive backing paper, which when removed allows
the pad to be adhered permanently to the backs of bathroom mirrors.

Fog-Off heating mirror pads are manufactured & available
in three sizes:

| |
- 500
mm x 300 mm
- 500
mm x 600 mm
- 500
mm x 800 mm
|
| Fog-Off
poses no risk of electrocution of burning whatsoever, &
meets every Australian building regulation & safety standard. |
|
With the cable installed & connected to the light switch
(240v) power supply
the simple action of activating the light,
the “Fog-Off” unit is automatically activated.
In a few minutes this warms the mirror to the point
where steam can not condense.
Giving a very clean clear area (the size of the pad plus 20%)
while allowing a person to use that area in steamy conditions
without having to wipe the mirror or use a hair dryer which
is common practice. |
|
|
While there are other products designed to inhibit mirror steaming,
they are more complicated, expensive and difficult to install.
The total Fog-Off package, including all wiring and connections,
costs less than $200, irrespective of mirror size and can be installed
by any competent electrician or glazier in minutes.
|
Most
architects, project managers and builders are aware of the existence
of either Fog-Off or competitive products, but usually rely on the
client requesting they be installed as Fog-Off is seen as a personal
selection to improve quality living.

Fitting Fog-Off |
Fog-Off pads are supplied with a one-metre long 1 mm cord. Standard
voltage is 240 volts, with power rating of 60 watts per square metre.
The thickness is less than 1 mm. Fog-Off must be fitted by a licensed
electrician AS3000 standard and protected by a 5 amp fuse or a circuit
breaker.
The pad should be positioned immediately above the basin, with its
lower side located at a minimum height of 1250 mm above floor level,
being self adhesive, it attaches to the back of any framed or unframed
mirror and should be mounted not less than 50 mm from the edge of
the mirror. Mirror fixing devices should not touch or pass through
the Fog-Off pad. Allow 200 mm minimum clearance for screw fixing
|
- Mark
with pencil on rear of mirror where Fog-Off fog free element
is to be applied.
- Ensure
back of mirror is clean.

- Apply
even pressure by hand to ensure the element is fixed.

Normally the pad can be connected into the bathroom lighting electrical
circuit. Alternatively, it can be connected into the fan circuit
or through a separate switch. Fitting must conform to the requirements
of your electricity supplier and of the relevant government authorities.

NB: do not use element that has been cut or punctured (contact
your supplier). Avoid applying element where screws or mirror fixings
